MOXI laser by Sciton used at Chic Derm & Aesthetics in Allen, TX
Gentle Laser Resurfacing

What Is MOXI Laser?

MOXI® is a non-ablative 1927 nm fractional laser by Sciton that resurfaces skin gently — clearing unwanted pigment and refreshing tone and texture without the extended downtime of an ablative laser. It delivers microscopic columns of energy into the skin, prompting your body to shed treated pigment and rebuild fresh, more even tissue over the following days.

The appeal is the trade-off: meaningful improvement in pigment and texture, but you're presentable in days rather than weeks. That makes MOXI a practical option for people who can't disappear for a two-week recovery — and a common starting point for patients new to laser treatment.

At Chic Derm & Aesthetics in Allen, MOXI is performed by Faseeha Raza, PA-C, a board-certified Physician Associate, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Raza, MD.

  • Targets pigment directlyBuilt for sun damage, melasma and uneven tone — not just surface polish.
  • Suitable across skin tonesA gentler option for deeper skin types that many aggressive lasers can't safely treat.
  • Minimal downtimeFlushed for a day or two, then a few days of fine flaking — not weeks of hiding.
  • Physician-supervisedEvery laser plan is reviewed for your skin type, history and medications first.
Concerns We Treat

What MOXI Laser Treats

MOXI is most often chosen for pigment and texture — the concerns that make skin look tired, blotchy or rough even when everything else is in good shape.

Hyperpigmentation & Sun Damage

Years of Texas sun leave brown spots, freckling and patchy tone. MOXI targets that excess pigment so skin reads clearer and more even.

Melasma

Melasma is stubborn and prone to rebound, so it needs a careful, conservative approach. MOXI can be part of a managed plan — paired with sun protection and topical care.

Managed, not "cured" — expectations set up front

Texture & Enlarged Pores

If your skin feels rough or your pores look more prominent than they used to, MOXI resurfaces the top layers to smooth texture and refine how pores appear.

One of the most-requested MOXI outcomes

Dullness & Uneven Tone

For skin that simply looks flat or tired, MOXI clears away built-up surface damage to restore brightness and a more even canvas.

Early Fine Lines

MOXI softens the earliest textural lines and supports overall skin quality — often chosen alongside injectables rather than instead of them.

Pairs with Botox & fillers

Prevention & Maintenance

Many patients in their 20s and 30s use MOXI proactively — staying ahead of sun damage rather than correcting it years later.

MOXI treats the face, and can also be used on the neck, décolletage and hands. Individual results vary. Candidacy, expected outcomes and the number of sessions are determined at your consultation.

Choosing Between Them

MOXI vs. Microneedling

They're often compared, but they solve different problems. MOXI is a laser that goes after pigment and surface texture; microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries to stimulate collagen.

What does MOXI laser treat?

MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser used to improve hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, uneven tone, rough texture, the appearance of enlarged pores, dullness and early signs of aging — for patients who want visible resurfacing without the downtime of an ablative laser.

Is MOXI safe for all skin tones?

MOXI is designed to be appropriate across a wide range of skin tones, including deeper skin types that often aren't good candidates for more aggressive lasers. Pigment-related risk still varies by individual, so your provider evaluates your skin type, history and medications before recommending treatment.

How many MOXI treatments will I need?

Many patients start with a series of three to four treatments spaced several weeks apart, then maintain with periodic sessions. The right number depends on how much pigment or texture change you're treating and your goals.

What is the downtime after MOXI?

Minimal compared with ablative lasers. Skin usually looks flushed and feels warm for a day or two, then develops a fine sandpaper texture with light flaking for a few days as treated pigment sheds. Most patients resume normal activities right away.

Does MOXI hurt?

Most patients find it very tolerable — typically a warm, prickling sensation. Topical numbing is applied beforehand, and treatment usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area.

How much does MOXI cost in Allen, TX?

MOXI is priced per treatment, and packages are common since a series is usually recommended. Pricing depends on the areas treated. We give you clear pricing at your consultation, plus membership savings and CareCredit & Cherry financing. Call 469-466-2727.

MOXI vs. microneedling — which is right for me?

MOXI is a laser that primarily targets pigment, tone and surface texture — strong for sun damage, melasma and dullness. Microneedling stimulates collagen — strong for acne scarring, fine lines and firmness. They're frequently combined; see MOXI + microneedling.

Can I get MOXI in the summer?

MOXI is often described as a year-round laser because it's non-ablative and gentler than many resurfacing options. That said, diligent sun protection before and after is essential for any laser targeting pigment, and your provider will give you specific pre- and post-care instructions.

Where can I get MOXI near Frisco or Allen?
