Hair Loss

Prompt diagnosis , treatment and management of hair loss is vital!

Hair Loss

There are several types of hair loss that can be treated with less-invasive procedures than typical hair transplantation. At Chic Derm & Aesthetics, we treat Androgenic Alopecia (male or female pattern baldness), Telogen Effuvium (stress-related thinning), and Tinea Capitis (scalp ringworm). These treatments can be as simple as a prescribed medication or more extensive such as a PRP treatment. Scheduling a Dermatology consultation is key to determining exactly which condition you are suffering from and the most-effective way to treat it.

What causes hair loss?

Genetics, stress , age, and skin conditions can all cause hair loss. Knowing what type of hair loss you have is key in treating the condition. Sometimes, hair will grow back on its own after treatment with medication. Sometimes, the treatment is paired with a hair restoration treatment using PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections, microneedling or a combination of both.

What type of hair loss do I have?

When you are evaluated during your Dermatology consultation, your provider will diagnose your condition, develop a treatment plan, and may start you on a medication right away. We will treat your condition medically and if necessary, begin a series of cosmetic treatments such as PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections or microneedling with PRP.
